This is a new map i have just modeled.
Map Title

Hey all. I just made a map from my friends (Andrew Pryor ) concept art. Its still untextured but ill do that when I can be bothered or there is nothing else to do.... any-whom here is a screenshot of it. Everything in this image is made by me except the background you can see to the right. (I use Game Maker+ Ultimate3D for the engine).

Original concept art by Andrew Pryor.
Click all images for full sized one.

//////EDIT\\\\\\\

Updated the textures..
Map is now around 80% done
I'm satisfied how it is with the look and feel.
If anyone wants a demo email me a query.
Thankyou.

Spot The Difference

Can you spot the 22 differences (2 are on a object not present in this image).

The Noise

Here is my poster design for the noise. The original idea came from the mac cover art screensaver. then i seen a poster design that had countries flags in the shape of a musical note. i decided to blend the two. I then used "noise" for a background as i though it looked to plain with white. Click the link for a fullsized image.

The Noise - Research

Music posters i liked.

1. Green Acers.
I Liked this poster because of its earth tones and vector based style.
It would suit the style i would go for because of the location of the concert(botanical gardens) and the clean crisp vector drawings.

 2. International Music Festival (fan Mock-up)

I like the style of the countries flags being used to make a music symbol
and the way the typography is combining to form the words.
I was originally thinking of this before i seen it (more of a full image style though).

3. SZiGET Festival
I liked the simple tones and colour pallet used to create a clean but interesting image. I liked the use of speaker for the main logo and to hold the larger speaker up). I also likes the use of natural swirls and plants in the background.

4. Middle Eastern Film Festival
I liked the way this poster used the words as light rays coming from the circle to the left(used as a sun). It has simple easy to read fonts and information on the time and date films would be shown.r

Variety is shown through the mono-graphic tone and usage of minimal objects.

the dominant object is the person skipping.

Hierarchy list
A. Skipping Person,
B. use of a physical object to creates the rope used for skipping,
C. Logo YKM.

Palm OS Mobile Phone

Variety and unity is shows through the use of the palm(arm) being used as a notepad. as where a palm(mobile) can do this in a more clean crisp way.

Dominant object is the hand.

Hierarchy list
A. Hand with Writing,
B. Palm Phone,
C. Word "Order",
D. Word "Chaos",
E. Text at bottom "Organise your life with logo(palm)".

Principles of design

1. Primary principals of design are
- Unity
- Variety
- Hierarchy
- Dominance
- Proportion
- Balance

 2.
The following company logos show one or more of these aspects.

A. This logo shows unity through the simple shapes and type making it easily recognizable. It also shows balance through the continuous use of black for the text and logo and the proportions of the logo and text are in. Proportion which is also another principal of design.

B. This logo is the original bungie.net logo it uses 3 basic colours and simple text and shapes. it uses dominance through using the cyan ball as the dot for the i and the stripe going to the dot. balance through the logo using text with a consistence font type.

C. This logo shows balance and proportion through the use of a consistent font type.it shows variety by creating whitespace where the first o is. creating a more flowing and unique logo.

D. This logo proportion, hierarchy and unity through the use of colour.

E. This logo shows balance and proportion through the use of text and circles. It also shows unity through the text showing dominance over the background.

3. The difference between symmetric and asymmetric balance is the 2 sides of a central axis. symmetrical images will have the same or very similar objects and shapes placed in the same spot on both sides where asymmetric is  using uneven numbers shapes and sized objects will uses negative and positive space to form and counterpart its other side.

4. I couldn't find use of the "golden triangle" in the notes so i google'd it..(i did see the golden rectangle which is used to create harmony and balance in works of painting and drawings, it also specify's that graphic designers use the rectangle as a format for print and digital media). Where the golden triangle according to Wikipedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_triangle_(mathematics) ) is a isosceles triangle where the 2 equal sides are 3 times the length of the smaller side.

5. A tangible element of design is shape, space, line, texture and type because they have a physical defines presence.

Conceptual Thinking

Today in class we did conceptual thinking in a group (Mat, Katelyn and myself) inventing 2 new products.
Beer for women
Mens Hair Removal

We had to first think of ways the product would work. and then name it, sketch it and create a magazine add.
With the Beer for women we first though of what women drunk and then tried to recreate that in a beer, adding flavor and a feminine touch.
We then designed the bottle using a femine curve shape and gave it the name "Pure Bliss".
For the add we though of having it in a metal cooler with ice, in-front of a paddock with lime trees and a calm sky. to create a feeling of harmony and piece.we had the slogan "finaly a beer for the girls".

With the Mens Hair Removal, we though of doing a cream. simple easy and quick. as most men wouldnt want to wait for the cream to do its "magic".
We then though of a rouged simple tube to hold it in, using flat monotone colours and bold font to help create that manly feel.
For the add we though of having a mans hand holding the tube with mist(as a shower scene) falling onto it.then having the slogan "Feel the might of MAXiPOWER" but the MAXiPOWER would be written using the tube.
